The Pelican State Pageant Organization is a pageant like no other! We pride ourselves in forming a relationship with all past contestants and Titleholders. We are a FAMILY. We uplift, encourage and support everyone that wants to experience the world of pageantry.
The Pelican State Pageant is an official recruiting pageant to the Miss Teen All-American® /Miss All-American® Pageant, Junior Miss Louisiana Pageant and the Miss/Mrs. Louisiana America Strong Pageant system. Be sure to follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates regarding the upcoming pageant season and our current Titleholders!
We are excited to continue our Pre-Teen division for girls ages 8-14 who want to get started or continue in competing in pageants! The winner will receive a crown and sash and will reign with the Pelican State name.

Pre-Teen Qualifications
Winner will advance to the Junior Miss Louisiana pageant.
Pre-Teen contestants must be between the ages of 8-13 years old.
No previous pageant or modeling experience required.
Must be a resident of the State of Louisiana or attend school in the State of Louisiana.
Must legally and medically be recognized as a female and be a citizen of the United States.
There is no performing talent competition.
All contestants will compete in Personal Interview, Athletic Wear & Evening Gown.

Teen Qualifications
Winner will advance to the Miss Teen All-American pageant.
Teen contestants must have birthdates between 2006 and 2011 (Must be 14-19 years of age as of August 1, 2025)
Must not currently be married or pregnant and have never been married or had a marriage annulled, nor given birth to a child.
Must be a resident of the State of Louisiana, work in the State of Louisiana, or attend school in the State of Louisiana.
Must legally and medically be recognized as a female and be a citizen of the United States.
There is no performing talent competition. No previous pageant experience is necessary.

Miss Qualifications
Winner will advance to the Miss All-American pageant or the Miss/Mrs. Louisiana America Strong pageant. *
Miss contestants must be born after the year 2006.
Miss contestants may be single, married or divorced. Pregnancy (& previous) &/or children, are now allowed. (*Depending on what system the contestant would like to advance to.)
Must be a resident of the State of Louisiana, work in the State of Louisiana, or attend school in the State of Louisiana.
Must medically be recognized as a female and be a citizen of the United States.
There is no performing talent competition. No previous pageant experience is necessary.
*Winner is responsible for understanding the qualifications of the State pageant to make her decision for her advancement.
Phases of Competition

Interview
Pageant judges spend time with each delegate to learn about her successes, talents, goals, and ambitions. Preliminary interviews are conducted individually in front of the judging panel in a private and closed setting. You will have a two to three-minute interview with the panel of judges.

Activewear/Swimsuit
Attention is focused on beauty of the face, figure, physical fitness, stage presence and the confidence with which each contestant carries herself. Numerical measurements are not considered in the judging.

Evening Gown
Each contestant wears a gown she has chosen for herself. Attention is focused on each contestant’s overall appearance, self-confidence, and the beauty she brings to the gown of her choice. Judges are instructed to evaluate the contestant, not the dress she is wearing.
